DEC 02/JAN 03 UPDATE:

BACK IN "OZ":

Dean's brief return to Australia was an insanely busy one as the Bassman stormed through Melbourne - Warwick FNA Jazzman in hand!

Re-united with Daniel Luttick and Gianni D'Ambra from Xtreme Measures, Dean played some intense compositions and accompanied several Box Hill College end of year recitals.

In less than a fortnight, the following tunes were mastered and performed by the ensembles mentioned below:

  • "DOG BOOTS" - Planet X,
  • "WAR-PATH" - Xtreme Measures.

Nick Britten - Guitar,
Gianni D'Ambra - Keyboards,
Dean Gaudoin - Bass,
Daniel Luttick - Drums.

  • "LOUD JAZZ" - John Scofield.

Angus Pickard - Guitar,
Gianni D'Ambra - Piano,
Dean Gaudoin - Bass,
Daniel Luttick - Drums.

  • "NEED TO KNOW" - Spyra Gyra,
  • "COOL WEASEL BOOGIE" - Chick Corea,
  • "ACID RAIN" - Liquid Tension Experiment II.

Roman Koester - Guitar,
Matthias Peitsch - Keyboards,
Dean Gaudoin - Bass,
Daniel Luttick - Drums.

  • "LAST NITE" - Larry Carlton,
  • "FACE FIRST" - Tribal Tech,
  • "PARTY IN SIMON'S PANTS" - Los Lobotomys.

Nick Britten - Guitar,
Dean Gaudoin - Bass,
Daniel Luttick - Drums.

The compositions were all challenging and it was a huge achievement for the ensembles to reach such a level in so short a time.

The new Xtreme Measures tune, "War Path", is an intricate body of work with a pounding 5 against 7 feel!

A blistering solo from Nick was followed by a tremendous drum solo from Dan, as Nick, Gianni and Dean held down the "groove" in 5!

Thanks to Neil Kennedy, Rose Stephens, BHCM and all the ensembles.

Stay tuned for next months update including:
